confusedDue to highly unusual events beyond our control our September tournament has no Champion to congratulate.

cheetahnotStarting with the oil pattern. The SSO requested that the proprietor program their oiling machine with the PBA Cheetah pattern, commonly known as one of the highest scoring conditions on the PBA Tour. Clearly things went very wrong resulting in our all time lowest tournament average ever of 176. No one in the building was happy. Well... maybe at least 22 bowlers were somewhat happy. :o)

Since this is not the first time oiling machines have been the reason for less than favorable lane conditions we are adapting new policies efective immediately regarding the choice of lane patterns. Please see this message from our Executive Director.

This month's tournament took place at Astro Lanes in Madison Heights Mi. We had 74 bowlers in attendance. The oiling pattern for this month was meant to be the PBA Cheetah pattern.

High Qualifier was Joe Krajenke who averaged 212. Only four other bowlers averaged 200 or more. it took an average of 188 after 6 games of qualifying for our regular seniors and an average of 182 for our final senior spot. 22 bowlers advanced to the Elimination Rounds.

PowerOutageYou might say these 22 bowlers "blew the lights out!"

Not long after our qualifying rounds were complete we found ourselves in the dark. Emergency lighting in the building worked fine but we had now power and no one knew how long this delay would last. After waiting for some time it was agreed by all to split the prize fun equally which ended up giving all 22 bowlers $234.00 each. I really don't think many bowlers wanted to get back to the lanes after qualifications. Each of these 22 bowlers will receive two points towards their Bowler Of The Year totals.

September 2015

27 out of our 74 entries were Super Seniors, making up 36% of our turnout. 9 out of 22 or 39% of our Super Senior bowlers made it to this months elimination rounds.

The SSO would like to thank everyone for coming out to compete.

The Senior Singles Open would also like to thank our sponsors; Red Robin, Budweiser and Turbo 2 in 1 Grips for their support of our tournaments.
