This month's tournament took place at Country Lanes
in Farmington Hills Mi. We had a record 73 entries!
The oiling pattern for this 32 wood lanes center was the USBC White 3 condition.
The tournament average this month was 210. High Qualifier was Ken Wyatt with 1448 averaging 241 for his 6 games. It took an average of 221 after 6 games to qualify for our regular seniors. 22 bowlers advanced to the Elimination Rounds. John Thomasma was the regular senior to advance below the cut line. Jeff Suma and Dan Mayer were the two super seniors to advance. Super seniors had to average better than 214 to advance.
Beside Sandy's great 822 series we had one perfect game by Mike Chapman bowling 300 during qualifying in game one. Leroy Johnson, a past champion, got 11 in a row with his 290 game in game 2 of qualifying.
The SSO would like to provide more tournaments with a wider variety of formats.
23 out of our 73 entries were Super Seniors, making up 30% of our turnout.
The SSO would like to thank everyone for coming out to compete.
The Senior Singles Open would also like to thank our sponsors; Red Robin, Budweiser and Turbo 2 in 1 Grips for their support of our tournaments.
