300 Bowl

Congratulations to Dale Hofmeister for winning his 3rd SSO title at 300 Bowl in Waterford. Hofmeister defeated Troy Stus 233-224 in a close final match. Hofmeister received $1,000 for his first place finish while Stus, looking for his 5th SSO title, collected $500 for second. We had a great turnout of 100 bowlers for this event!

During the 6-game qualifying, this event looked more like the shootout at the OK Corral! Joey Hickey started the day off with a 300 in game 1, but after that Steve Boos took over. Steve shot 819 the first 3 games and never looked back, posting an amazing 1573 for the 6-game qualifying round. Other high scores included Jeff Austreng with 300, Kerry Kreft and Bruce Wright with 299 and Ken Wyatt with 805.

The cut to make the top 25 was 1382 by Sandy Schultz and Ed Peart. Our extras out of the cut to move on in the elimination rounds were Troy Franz in the senior division (50+), Ron Bettin (1377), Jessie Bowersock (1367), Mario Marquez and Jerry Sikora (1364), Jerry Jaracz (1361) and Mo Ibrahim (1358) from the super senior division (60+), Ron Burgess (1319) and Jeff Suma (1368) via the super super senior division (70+), and two additional ladies were Tamika Glenn (1333) and Stacey Timmer (1279).

Thank you to Ed and Jeff Austreng and the great staff at 300 Bowl for hosting the SSO. The SSO would also like to thank our staff and our sponsors; Ebonite Bowling Products, Red Robin, Beyond Boarders, Turbo 2 in 1 Grips, Hamtramck Singles Classic, A.M. Total Being Fitness and Dilaura Brothers Bowling Supply for their support of our tournaments.

Our next tournament will be September 21st at Town & Country Lanes in Westland.
