Congratulations to Carl Bishop on winning his 1st SSO Championship by defeating Bob Sellers in the final match 300 to 256 taking home the top prize of $1000.00, the trophy and 10 points toward this season’s BOTY category. Carl qualified 7th with an average of 238 and total pin fall of 1430 to make it into the Elimination rounds.
Congratulations also goes out to Bob Sellers on his second place finish. Sellers received $500.00 for our 2nd place payout and 8 points for his BOTY standings. Bob qualified in 3rd spot shooting a 279 in his 6 game block with an average better than 242.
This month’s tournament was held at Southwyck Lanes in Toledo Ohio where we requested their modified house pattern. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
This month’s tournament average was 213.
We had 70 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 23 super seniors, 9 super super seniors and 3 female bowlers with the rest of our seniors.
We also had 25 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds, 8 SS, 2 SSS, and 1 female along with the rest of our seniors. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
It took a total of 1352 and an average of 225 or better to make our regular cut line set by Pete Kacmarczyk.
High Qualifier was SSS Bob Edwards with 1490 total pin fall with an average of 248 after his first 6 games. This is our 3rd time we had an SSS bowler lead the field of qualifiers. The High Qualifiers Curse remains in effect. Bob lost in the first round of Eliminations.
There were two Perfect games. One by Ron Koles in his 5th game of qualifying and the other was by Carl Bishop in his final match of Eliminations to win the Tournament.
