Congratulations to Canadian Joe Ciach from Toronto Ontario on his second SSO Championship in a row by defeating Mike Calvin in the final match 267 to 200 taking home the trophy, getting another 10 points towards BOTY and the $1000 top prize. Joe qualified 20th with 1323 total pinfall and an average of 221 for his first 6 games. Ciach advance to the finals by bowling steady averaging 225 for his first 4 games in the Eliminations. Unlike last month he was not to be denied by finishing his day with a strong 267 game for the win.
Congratulations also goes out to Mike Calvin on his second place finish, winning $550 and picking up 8 points towards BOTY. Mike qualified 9th averaging 228 with a total of 1369 at the end of his first 6 games. In Eliminations, Calvin easily advanced by averaging 241 on his way to the finals..
This month’s tournament was held at Bonanza Lanes where we requested the Kegel Bourbon Stree oiling pattern. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
New for 2019, we’ll be showing the BOTY points column for every finalist in every article. This will help you track your own results if you wish to do so.
The Tournament Average was 207, 20 pins better than last months tournament.
High Qualifier this month was Joe Krajenke.
It took a total of 1321 and an average of 220 or better to make our regular cut line set by Bob Schulz.
We had 81 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 29 super seniors, 8 super super seniors and 3 female bowler with the rest of our seniors.
We also had 27 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds, 7 SS and 1 SSS and 1 SS female bowler along with the rest of our seniors. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
There were 3 honor scores. Larry Walker had a 300 game in game 6 of qualifying, Bill Essman had 11 in a row with a 296 in game 2 of qualifying and Ken Wyatt had 11 in a row with a 290 in game one of the Elimination rounds..
