March 30th 2019 Results

Congratulations to Canadian Mostafa Nejatbakhsh (SS) from Toronto Ontario on his first SSO Championship by defeating Larry Walker (SS and HOF’er) in the final match 204 to 194 taking home the trophy, getting 10 points towards  BOTY  and the $1000 top prize. Mostafa qualified 14th, the regular cut line, with 1340 total pinfall and an average of 223 for his first 6 games. He advance to the finals by bowling steady averaging better than 240 for his first 4 games in the Eliminations.This makes three tournaments in a row that were won by our Toronto bowlers, a TORONTO THREE-PEAT!!! 

March 30 2019 2Congratulations also goes out to Larry Walker on his second place finish, winning $500 and picking up 8 points towards  BOTY. Larry qualified 2nd with the help of a 300 game in game one of qualifying averaging 245 with a total of 1472 at the end of his first 6 games. In Eliminations, Walker advanced by averaging 237 on his way to the finals. It’s interesting to note that Larry advanced to the final match by just 1 pin over Dave Tulak 247 to 246.

This month’s tournament was held at Novi Bowl where we requested the Kegel High Street oiling pattern. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.

New for 2019, we’ll be showing the  BOTY points  column for every finalist in every article. This will help you track your own results if you wish to do so.

The Tournament Average was 210, 3 pins higher than last months tournament.

High Qualifier this month was Brad Gray with 1540 for 6 games, averaging better than 257. 

It took a total of 1340 and an average of 223 or better to make our regular cut line set by Mostafa Nejatbakhsh.

We had 54 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 17 super seniors, 8 super super seniors and 1 female bowler with the rest of our seniors. 

We also had 20 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds, 9 SS and 2 SSS along with the rest of our seniors. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.

There were 2 honor scores. Larry Walker had a 300 game in game 1 of qualifying and Dave Patchen had 11 in a row with a 299 in game 2 of the Elimination round.
