Bonanza Lanes
Congratulations to Trent Marner for winning his 2nd SSO title at Bonanza Lanes in Warren. Marner defeated Jamie Adams 237- 196 in the title match. In the championship match, both bowlers got out of the gates slow, each having carry issues. However, Marner managed to string together a 7-bagger to end the game and come out victorious. Marner received $1,000 for his first-place finish while Adams, looking for his first title, collected $500 for second. We had another great turnout of 126 bowlers at Bonanza Lanes, our most popular stop for the SSO.
Terry Dockery was our high qualifier with an impressive 1428. Right behind Dockery was Ravone Bentley (1419), Dennis Johnson (1418), and Randy Warnken (1404). We had another great turnout in our women’s division – 8 women were in the field meaning 2 ladies out of the cut made the elimination rounds. Thank you, ladies and great bowling!
The cut to make the top 31 was 1313 (Mike Calvin, Ken Wyatt, Jim Grant). Our extras out of the cut to move on in the elimination rounds were Gary Duarard (1312) and Rob Backus (1312) in the senior division (50+); Peter Senf (1298), Keith Caldwell (1286), Rick Wayne (1277), Jamie Adams (1270) and Frank Robinson III (1246) from the super senior division (60+); Arnie Goldman (1225) and Larry Franz (1201) via the super-super senior division (70+). Our two additional ladies were Amy Stolz (1311), Amy Stolz and Shelly Berryman (1298).
Thank you to Dan Van Hecke and the rest of the staff at Bonanza Lanes for hosting the SSO. The SSO would also like to thank our staff and our sponsors; Brunswick Bowling Products, Red Robin, Beyond Boarders, Turbo 2 in 1 Grips, Hamtramck Singles Classic, A.M. Our next tournament will be March 15th at Galaxy Lanes in Grand Blanc. This field is limited to 120 bowlers, so please sign up online or contact Lew Ansara or Ken Wyatt if you would like to bowl.
