SSO 300 Bowl Singles Results
Congratulations this month to HOF’r Gerald Johnson with his 24th SSO Championship by defeating first time participant Bruce Falcon in the final match 234 to 170. Johnson took home the Trophy, the first place prize of $1000.00 and gaining 10 points in the BOTY standings. Gerald qualified 3rd averaging 216 in his first 6 games and a total pin fall of 1295.
Congratulations also goes out to runner up Bruce Falcon on winning the second place prize of $500.00 in his very first tournament. Bruce qualified in 16th with an average of 198 for his first 6 games. Falcon will receive 8 points for his BOTY Standings. It’s interesting to note that Falcon beat out Dale Hoffmeister in Round 3 by just 1 pin to advance to the 4th round group of 4. Oh so close!
This month’s tournament was held at 300 Bowl. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
This month’s tournament average was 181.
High Qualifier was once again Mike Calvin with 1337 total pin fall with an average of 223 after his first 6 games. Sadly the high qualifiers curse prevailed for a second time in a row for Mike going out in the first round of Eliminations. He bowling his lowest game of the day in the first round. :o( Go figure!.
We had 73 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 10 SSS, 29 SS and 1 female with the rest of our seniors.
It took a total of 1180 and an average of 197 or better to make our regular cut line set by Larry Franz.
We also had 25 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
