SSO Galaxy Singles Results
Congratulations this month to HOF’r Gerald Johnson SS on winning his 23rd SSO Championship. Gerald defeated HOF’r Mike Calvin in the final match 255 to 206 taking home the trophy, gaining 10 points for BOTY and the top prize of $1000.00. Johnson qualified in a tie with Gary Duarard in 22nd with 340 total pin fall and an average of 223 each.
Congratulations also goes out to runner up HOF’r Mike Calvin on winning the second place prize of $500.00. Calvin qualified in the higher 6th spot with an average of 235 and a total pin fall of 1411 for his first 6 games. Mike also bowled a perfect 300 game in game 2 of qualifying.
This month’s tournament was held at Galaxy Lanes. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend and apologize for this mistake on our Preliminary Results. That’s why we call it preliminary. :o).
This month’s tournament average was 210.
High Qualifier was Joe Ciach with 1510 total pin fall with an average of 252 after his first 6 games.
We had 81 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 4 SSS and 28 SS and 4 female with the rest of our seniors.
It took a total of 1348 and an average of 225 or better to make our regular cut line set by Rick Goergen SS.
We also had 28 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
There was one 300 game by Mike Calvin in game 2 of qualifications. We also had Ray Edwards shoot 11 in a row with his 290 in game 5 of qualifying.
