2021 SSO Grand Finals Results
Congratulations to HOF’r Troy Stus for winning this years SSO Grand Finals by defeating Dale Hofmeister in this low scoring final match of 197 to 157. Troy took home the first place trophy and the top prize fund of $1800. Troy qualified in 3rd with 1397 total pin fall and an average of 233 for his first 6 games. Troy picked up 10 points for his BOTY total.
We would also like to congratulate Dale Hofmeister on his second in a row, second place finish, this time taking home the $1400 Grand Finals prize. Dale qualified in the middle area of the pack at 22nd with an average of 208 and total pin fall of 1247.
This year we had $6500 in prize funds for the top five finalists.
Also being our final tournament we would like to congratulate Gerald Johnson once again on winning this years SSO Bowler Of The Year. This is now Gerald’s 6th win in the 8 years we’ve been keeping track. Great achievement Gerald!
This month’s Grand Finals Tournament was held at Astro Lanes. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
This month’s tournament average was 196 for the first 6 games of qualifying.
We had 100 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 33 super seniors, 9 super super seniors and 4 female with the rest of our seniors.
We also had 18 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds, 8 SS, 2 SSS along with the rest of our seniors. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
High Qualifier was Steve Krywy for the first 6 games. Troy Stus then emerged as high qualifier with a combined Qualifying and Elimination score of 2283 to determine the order of our stepladder finals.
There was one honor score for the day with a 300 game by Norman Smith in game 6th of our qualifying rounds..
