Congratulations this month to our new Champion Doug Moore on winning his 1st SSO Singles Championship by defeating HOF’r Ken Wyatt in the final match, 204 to 174 taking home the top prize of $1000.00, the trophy and 10 points toward this season’s BOTY category. Doug qualified in 14th with an average of 219 and a total pin fall of 1314 to make it into the Elimination rounds. Moore continued his charge with a 229 average for his 5 games in the Elimination Rounds.
Congratulations also goes out to HOFr Ken Wyatt on his 2nd place finish. Ken took home our $500.00 prize and 8 points for his BOTY standings. Wyatt qualified just above Doug in 12th with 1321 total and an average of 220.
This month’s tournament was held at Town & Country lanes where we requested the Kegels Route 66 pattern. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
This month’s tournament average was 196 or 20 pins lower than last month.
We had 68 bowlers in attendance this month.
We also had 23 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds, 8 SS, 2 SSS with the rest of our seniors. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
It took a total of 1274 and an average of 212 or better to make our regular cut line set by Mike McCleskey.
High Qualifier was Eddie Mintz with 1429 total pin fall with an average of 238 after his first 6 games. Once again Eddie fell claim to our HQC (High Qualifier Curse) and never got past round 1.
We had one 300 perfect game by Doug Moore in game 3 of Qualifying. Congratulations to our honor score bowler.
