Congratulations to Jim Lauricella on winning his 1st SSO Singles Championship by defeating Larry Wilson in the final match, 245 to 213 taking home the top prize of $1100.00, the trophy and 10 points toward this season’s BOTY category. Jim qualified 18th place with an average of 222 and total pin fall of 1331 to make it into the Elimination rounds. See Rule 7 for qualifying details. Jim picked up the pace in the Eliminations averaging better than 256 for his next 5 games. Jim was not going to be denied today.
Congratulations also goes out to Larry Wilson on his 2nd second place finish. Larry received $550.00 and 8 points for his BOTY standings. Wilson qualified a little higher than Jim in 13th with 1359 and a 227 average.
This month’s tournament was held at Bonanza Lanes where we requested their house pattern. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
This month’s tournament average was 210.
We had 91 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 10 SSS, 31 SS and 1 female bowler with the rest of our seniors.
We also had 29 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds, 1 SSS, 15 SS with the rest of our seniors. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
It took a total of 1329 and an average of 222 or better to make our regular cut line set by Jeff Suma SS..
High Qualifier was Nick Wissinger with 1487 total pin fall with an average of 248 after his first 6 games. Nick also advanced to the third round of Eliminations avoiding our high qualifiers curse.
We had 3 300’s, one from Kenney Allen in game 1 of qualifying and 2 perfect games (back to back 4th and 5th round of qualifying) from our high qualifier Nick Wissinger. Sadly Nick missed his 800 opportunity by shooting only 192 in his 6th game. We also had an 11 in a row 290 game by Brian Dimuzio during his 4th game of qualifying.
