Congratulations to Mike Snow on his 2nd SSO title as he defeated Troy Stus 235-223 at Astro Lanes in Madison Heights. In the championship match, both players were able to catch at least one double going into the 9th frame. Stus was first to finish and could have shut out Snow, however in the 9th left a wall shot 5 pin, and in the 10th left a 10 pin on his first shot, sparing and finishing with 223. Snow, needed the first strike in the 10th then 9 spare for the win. Mike left no doubt in the outcome striking out for 235. Snow, ironically winning his first tournament at Astro Lanes back in 2018, received the first-place check of $1,000, while Stus, looking for his 7th SSO title, collected $550 for second. We had a great turnout at Astro Lanes with 102 entries, thank you to everyone for your continued support of the SSO!

During qualifying, Dale Hofmeister averaged 255 with an impressive 6 game block of 1527, followed by Amos Mathis with 1485, Randy Warnken with 1428 and Troy Stus with 1424. High game of the day was 289 shot by Amos Mathis in qualifying.

The cut to make the top 25 was 1336 (Eric Wayne). Our extras out of the cut to move on in the elimination rounds: In the Senior division (50+) was Craig Bosco (1324); Super Senior division (60+) Rob Holding (1314), Pete Kaczmarczyk (1309), Mike Snow (1306), Jamie Adams (1304)and Rob Holding (1313); In the super-super senior division (70+) Mike Lucente (1273), Larry Wilson (1267) and Ed Austreng (1227); In the women’s division was Stacey Timmer (1323) and Pam Wilson (1248).
