Century Bowl – August 2, 2025

Congratulations to Jessie Bowersock on his 1st SSO title as he defeated Kerry Kreft 226-205 at our non-champions event at Century Bowl in Waterford. In the championship match, Bowersock fell behind early as Kreft was able to pull out to an early lead with a triple to start the game. Things looked even more bleak for Bowersock when he missed a 4 pin in the 7th frame. However, carry issues plagued Kreft the ladder part of the match leaving a couple 10 pins in frames 8 & 9, then a costly open in the 10th which gave Bowersock the chance to win with a strike in the 10th. Bowersock received $1,000 for his first-place finish while Kreft collected $500 for second. We had another great turnout of 83 bowlers looking for their first title at Century Bowl.

During qualifying, Kreft led the way with an impressive 6 game block of 1450, followed by Lonnie Olsen (1448), and Cliff Crawford (1446). Crawford also posted the only 300 of this event in game 2 of qualifying.

The cut to make the top 20 was 1344 (Greg McCreadie & Bill Stephenson). Our extras out of the cut to move on in the elimination rounds: In the senior division (50+) Justin Jeffery (1326); In the Super Senior division (60+) Rick Gregor (1334), Bruce Wright (1325), and Brian Dimuzio (1289); In the super-super senior division (70+) Ron Toswell (1307) and Larry Wilson (1287); In the women’s division was Cheryl Helms (1321).
