Plaza Lanes Hall of Fame Tournament

Congratulations to Larry Walker for winning his 12th  SSO title at Plaza Lanes in Plymouth. Walker defeated Steve Boos 269-225 in the title match. In the championship match, Boos, looking for his first SSO title, got out of the gates a little slow throwing a strike and three spares, which was well behind the pace of Walker, who started with a spare but then threw an 8-bagger to put the game out of reach. Walker received $1,000 for his first-place finish while Boos collected $500 for second. We had another great turnout of 88 bowlers Plaza Lanes.

During qualifying, Jeff Suma started hot (803 for his first 3 games) and coasted the final 3 games by posting an impressive 1543 for the 6-game block – which was 61 pins better than Larry Walker’s 1482 which was second. There were two 300 games during qualifying – Dale Hofmeister in game 2 and Carl Harden in game 4.

The cut to make the top 22 was 1364 (Eddie Mintz). Our extras out of the cut to move on in the elimination rounds were Jim Grant (1362) and Steve Boos (1359) in the senior division (50+); Norm Smith (1350), Ernie Segura Jr. (1347), Pete Kaczmarczyk (1343), Mike Snow (1336) and Anthony Moses (1323) from the super senior division (60+); Tony Stipcak (1312), Alan Tone (1290), and Mark Hatchigian (1261) via the super-super senior division (70+). Our two additional ladies were Stacey Timmer (1338) and Tamika Glenn (1306).
