Congratulations to Steve Jakubowski on winning his 4th SSO Championship by defeating Bill Essman SS in the final match 255 to 205 taking home the top prize of $1000.00, the trophy and 10 points toward this season’s BOTY category. Steve qualified 2nd with an average of 234 and total pin fall of 1405 including a 300 in his final game of qualifying to make it into the Elimination rounds.
Congratulations also goes out to Bill Essman SS on his second place finish. Bill received $500.00 for our 2nd place payout and 8 points for his BOTY standings. Essman qualified in 9th spot and averaged better than 222 with a total pinfall of 1331.
This month’s tournament was held at Southwyck Lanes in Toledo Ohio where we requested the Kegel Route 66 pattern. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
This month’s tournament average was 199.
We had 48 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 17 super seniors, 6 super super seniors with the rest of our seniors.
We also had 18 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds, 5 SS, 2 SSS with the rest of our seniors. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
It took a total of 1231 and an average of 205 or better to make our regular cut line set by Terryl Metzner.
For the second time in a row High Qualifier was SSS Bob Edwards this time with 1415 total pin fall with an average of 236 after his first 6 games. This is our 4th time we had an SSS bowler lead the field of qualifiers. Bob advanced to the second round.of Eliminations.
There were two Perfect games. One by Steve Jakubowski in his 6th game of qualifying and the other was by Gerald Johnson in his first game of Eliminations. Gerald also shot an 846 with a 277 and a 269 to go with that 300.
