Summit Entertainment Center – April 18, 2026

Congratulations to Dominic Emmi for winning his 1st SSO title at Summit Entertainment Center in Washington. Emmi defeated Hall of Famer Troy Stus 215-211 in the title match. In the championship match, strikes were not easy to come by on a demanding condition. Emmi caught a 4-bagger in frames 3-6, with the help of a nose-dive strike in the 4th, while Stus threw a double in frames 3-4. The fifth frame was costly for Stus, leaving the bucket then chopping it for an open. Emmi returned the favor in the 8th frame leaving an unfortunate pocket 7-9 split, cracking the door open for Stus. Stus immediately struck out in the 9th and 10th frame for 211, forcing Emmi to mark with count to win. Emmi got the best mark of all, a clutch strike the first ball in the 10th to clinch his first title. Emmi received $1,000 for his first-place finish while Stus, looking for his 7th title, collected $500 for second. We had another great turnout of 101 bowlers at Summit Entertainment Center.

Emmi was the 24th seed after qualifying and his road to the final match included wins against Lonnie Olsen 290-187, Chuck Reynolds 268-259, qualifying leader Randy Warnken 258-246 and Jessie Bowersock 258-225. Stus was the 23rd seed and his road included wins against Chris Viney 239-235, Kerry Kreft 245-184, Jeff Kruzel 218-193 and Kris Warner 256-169.

Randy Warnken was our high qualifier with an impressive 1447, followed by Amos Mathis with 1420 and Mike Modreski 1401. Right behind Strike was Kris Warner (1462), Troy Stus (1455), and Kreft (1451). The cut to make the top 25 was 1311 (Rick Shawver). Our extras out of the cut to move on to match play were Kerry Kreft (1310) in the senior division (50+); Steve Kenyon (1309), Gerald Johnson (1294), Jessie Bowersock (1293), Anthony Moses (1285) and Jeff Kendall (1283) from the super senior division (60+); Lew Ansara (1290) from the 70+ representative. Sandy Schultz received the last check ($175) as the lady out of the cut.
