Town & Country
Congratulations to Jerry Sikora for winning his 3rd SSO title at Town & Country Lanes in Westland. Sikora defeated Dale Hofmeister 269-247. In the championship match, Sikora started off with a spare and then proceeded to throw the next eight strikes to put the game out of reach. Sikora received $1,000 for his first-place finish while Hofmeister, looking for back-to-back titles – winning his 3rd SSO tournament last month at 300 Bowl, collected $500 for second. We had 70 bowlers
looking for a title at Town & Country.
During qualifying, Jeff Austreng started hot and finished hot shooting an impressive 1523 for the 6-game block. Hofmeister and Gerald Johnson tied for second in qualifying with a distant 1450. The only 300 game was by Trent Marner during the elimination rounds.
The cut to make the top 18 was 1350 (Chris Toyias). Our extras out of the cut to move on in the elimination rounds were John Talon (1348) and Eric Wayne (1347) in the senior division (50+), Mike Calvin (1325), Dave Sill (1284), and Bill Essman (1270) from the super senior division (60+), Alan Tone (1319), Ron Burgess (1302) and Larry Wilson (1296) via the super-super senior division (70+), and our one additional lady was Teri White (1298). Teri also made a great run at her 2nd title, finishing 4th in this tournament.
