Congratulations to Bill Froberg on winning his 2nd SSO title as he defeated Ken Wyatt 205-158 at Town N Country Lanes in Westland. The championship match almost over before it started when Froberg started the game with a double and Wyatt came out the gate with two open frames. Wyatt never found his way to the pocket, while Froberg was steady throughout the match bowling a clean game in route to title. Froberg received the first-place check of $1,000, while Wyatt, looking for his 16TH SSO title, collected $500 for second. We had 91 entries at Town N Country Lanes, thank you to everyone for your continued support of the SSO!

During qualifying, Craig Bosco, who was -2 after two games, went on a roll with games of 269, 258, 288, 254 to lead qualifying with an amazing 6 game block of 1467. Steve Kenyon was second with 1431, followed by Jeff Austreng with 1426 and Brian Newcomb with 1417. High game of the day was 300 shot by Brian Esterle in game 3 of qualifying. The field averaged 207.7 during qualifying.

The cut to make the top 22 was 1314 (Kris Warner). Our extras out of the cut to move on in the elimination rounds: In the Senior division (50+) Jeff Kruzel (1308) and Gary Duarard (1308); Super Senior division (60+) Eddie Mintz (1305), Mike Bosco (1290), Peter Senf (1288), John Goormastic (1286), and champion Bill Froberg (1274); In the super-super senior division (70+) Ed Austreng (1297) and Ron Burgess (1293); In the women’s division was Teri White (1181).
