Westland Over/Under Doubles – October 4, 2025

Congratulations to Eric Wayne and Dylan Kelley for winning the SSO Over/Under doubles tournament at Westland Bowl. Wayne and Kelley defeated Dale Strike and Alex Ouellette 461-416. In the title match, it was Wayne and Kelley who were able to string a few strikes together on a very demanding lane condition at Westland Bowl, while Strike and Ouellette had some carry issues especially on the right lane on their way to a respectable game, however it wasn’t enough. Wayne, winning his 1st SSO title, and Kelley received $4000 for their first-place finish, while Strike and Ouellette collected $2500 for their runner-up finish.

We had 93 teams vying for the title at Westland Bowl. Scoring was tough during the qualifying rounds, as the Over 50 bowlers averaged 192.52 and the Under 50 bowlers averaged 200.63. Steve Boos and Aaron Phillips led qualifying with an impressive score of 2688, while the cut to make the 28-team elimination round was 2439 – this number was shot by Wayne and Kelley who looked like they were heading home after 5 games, however, Wayne, who struggled all day, shot 279 in game 6 while Kelley grinded to a 200 game, which propelled them to the final spot.
