Congratulations to Tony Stipcak SS on winning his 1st SSO Championship by defeating HOFr Rick Wayne in the final match of 226 to 215 taking home the top prize of $1100.00, the trophy and 10 points toward this season’s BOTY category. Tony qualified way down in 33rd place with an average of 218 and total pin fall of 1308 to make it into the Elimination rounds below the cut line. See Rule 7 for details. Tony picked up the pace in Eliminations averaging better than 237 for his next 5 games.
Congratulations also goes out to Rick Wayne on his second place finish. Rick received $600.00 for our 2nd place payout and 8 points for his BOTY standings. Wayne qualified 6th after his first 6 games with a total pin fall of 1396 averaging 233. Rick also picked up the pace in Eliminations by bowling an 812 in his first 3 games and averaging better than 259 for his 5 games during Eliminations.
This month’s tournament was held at Thunderbowl Lanes where we requested their house pattern. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
This month’s tournament average was 211.
We had 97 bowlers in attendance this month. There were 11 SSS, 32 SS and 4 women with the rest of our seniors.
We also had 32 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds, 2 SSS, 10 SS and 1 female with the rest of our seniors. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
It took a total of 1337 and an average of 223 or better to make our regular cut line set by John Shreve jr..
High Qualifier was Jim Magolan SS with 1437 total pin fall with an average of 240 after his first 6 games. Jim also advanced to the fourth round of Eliminations.
Our only honor score came from Rick Wayne during our Elimination Rounds where Rick shot 11 in a row 299 in round 2 with an 812 for his first 3 games.
