The SSO would like to congratulate past champion Tim Skinner on winning his 2nd. SSO Championship Title by defeating Andrew Blagojevic in the final match 236 to 200. Tim picked up the first place prize of $1200.00, the trophy and earned 10 points for his BOTY standings. Skinner qualified in 16th with 1352 and an average of 225. See Rule 7 for details
Congratulations also goes out to Andrew Blagojevic on his second place finish winning $600.00. Andrew will receive 8 points towards his BOTY standings. Blagojevic qualified in 30th with a total pin fall of 1314 with an average of 219.
Worth noting is that Dale Strike and Ken Wyatt failed to advance to the 3rd Round by just 1 pin. Also, the high qualifiers curse once again appeared with Marty Sanders failing to advance to round 2 of Eliminations. Bummer!
This month's tournament was held at Bonanza Lanes. We would like to thank the management and staff for hosting our tournament this weekend.
This month's tournament average was 206.
High Qualifier this month was Marty Sander with 1448 and an average of 241. Marty also shot a perfect game in game 4 of qualifying.
We had 129 bowlers in attendance, nearly breaking our singles high attendance of 134 in our Bonanza Lanes Singles tournament this year. There were 15 SSS, 49 SS and 5 Female bowlers with the rest of our seniors.
It took a total of 1309 and an average of 218 or better to make our regular cut line set by Larry Walker.
We also had 43 bowlers in our Elimination Rounds. This provided a little better than 1 in 3 cashing ratio for the tournament.
There were two honor scores for this tournament. Along with the already mentioned 300 game for Marty Sanders there was also a 300 game shot by Jeff Kendall in game one of qualifying.
